Jackson & Hertogs recently completed its fourth courtesy
special registration e-mail update to potentially
affected nonimmigrants. This most recent e-mail update
was necessitated due to extension of the "call in"
deadlines for Groups III and IV, and an increase in the
number of ports of entry/exit available to those subject
to special registration. This e-mail included those born
in or citizens of:
-
Group I:
Iran, Iraq, Libya, Sudan, Syria
-
Group II:
Afghanistan, Algeria, Bahrain, Eritrea, Lebanon,
Morocco, North Korea, Oman, Qatar, Somalia, Tunisia,
United Arab Emirates, Yemen
-
Group III:
Pakistan, Saudi Arabia
-
Group IV: Bangladesh, Egypt, Indonesia, Kuwait, Jordan
In addition, persons born in, or citizens of, Israel
were also e-mailed in the event that they hold dual
nationality or citizenship in a subject country. The
e-mail update is available through our website's special registration webpage and addresses both
"call in" special registration, which applies to males,
and "port of entry/exit" special registration, which
applies to both males and females. We anticipate that
additional countries may be added to those subject to
special registration.
BCIS Service Centers are issuing Requests for Evidence (RFEs)
on extension, change, and adjustment of status
applications and petitions, asking for proof of
registration from beneficiaries subject to call-in
special registration. This appears to be the case even
if the deadline for registration has not been
reached, and even if the case is in premium processing.
As a result, Jackson & Hertogs is now requesting
evidence of registration, prior to filing, from foreign
nationals and dependents subject to special
registration. |
