On July 22, 2004,
U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS)
announced the expansion of its online appointment
system, InfoPass, to the New York City area. InfoPass
allows individuals to go online and schedule
appointments for a number of actions at the local
USCIS
District Office, avoiding the need to wait in long lines
at the District Office. InfoPass was rolled out earlier
this year at the Los Angeles, California and Dallas,
Texas District Offices. USCIS also announced its plans to
launch InfoPass in other areas of the U.S. later this
year, including San Francisco, San Jose, Chicago and
Seattle.
For the full USCIS press release, including the
proposed schedule to deploy InfoPass in various cities,

Eventually, individuals will use
InfoPass to make appointments for ADIT processing at
participating local offices.
