Action Follows Designation of a National Day of Mourning
Honoring President Ford WASHINGTON - U.S. Citizenship and
Immigration Services (USCIS) announced today that agency offices
will be closed on Tuesday, January 2, 2007. All appointments and
interviews originally scheduled for Tuesday are postponed. USCIS
will reschedule those appointments and notify customers of the
new appointment schedule.
Customers with an INFOPASS appointment are reminded that USCIS
cannot reschedule for them. The customer will need to use
INFOPASS to schedule a new appointment at a time that is
convenient. INFOPASS is available from the home page of the
USCIS website at www.uscis.gov.
USCIS' announcement follows yesterday's proclamation by
President Bush marking January 2, 2007 as a National Day of
Mourning allowing the Nation to pay respects following the death
of President Gerald R. Ford, 38th President of the United
States.
