USCIS recently published a new version of Form I-9, dated June 16,
2008. While there are no changes between this latest version of
the form and the prior version other than the validity date,
employers must use the latest version of the Form I-9 when
verifying the employment eligibility of employees. In addition,
employers must use this version of Form I-9 when reverifying the
employment eligibility of existing employees - employers should
not use the reverification section on the original I-9 Form that
was completed when the employee was initially hired. Employers
