On September 18, 2017, USCIS announced that it is accepting premium processing for H-1B petitions subject to the FY2018 cap immediately. The announcement indicated that premium processing remains suspended on all other H-1B petitions, such as extensions of stay, and that USCIS plans to resume premium processing for these other categories “as agency workloads permit.” For cases not eligible for premium processing, petitioners can request discretionary “expedite” processing if the case falls under one of the designated criteria.
