Supreme Court upholds Trump travel ban

On June 26, 2018, the U.S. Supreme Court upheld President Trump’s so-called “Muslim travel ban”, a Presidential Proclamation which had the effect of preventing visas of being issued to nationals of the countries listed below. The travel ban has been fully in effect (as described in our prior news posting) since the Supreme Court overturned a nationwide injunction on December 4, 2017.

Currently, the following foreign nationals are subject to the travel ban, unless they are eligible for an exemption or a waiver:

Country Nonimmigrant Visas Immigrant and Diversity Visas
Iran No nonimmigrant visas except F, M, and J visas No immigrant or diversity visas
Libya No B-1, B-2, and B-1/B-2 visas No immigrant or diversity visas
North Korea No nonimmigrant visas No immigrant or diversity visas
Somalia No immigrant or diversity visas
Syria No nonimmigrant visas No immigrant or diversity visas
Venezuela No B-1, B-2 or B-1/B-2 visas of any kind for specified government agency officials and their family members.
Yemen No B-1, B-2, and B-1/B-2 visas No immigrant or diversity visas
